3rd International Conference on Music and Gesture
March 5 - 6, 2010
Schulich School of Music, McGill University, Montreal, Canada
The 3rd International Conference on Music and Gesture will be held at
McGill University on March 5 and 6, 2010, as part of the MusiMarch 2010
Festival.
We encourage the submission of abstracts describing novel research on
gesture and music. Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words and sent
electronically to [log in to unmask]
A total of 20 contributions will be selected for presentation during the
conference, with abstracts printed in the MusiMarch 2010 booklet.
Important dates:
* Abstract submission: September 27, 2009
* Abstract acceptance/rejection: October 12, 2009
* Final abstract due: October 26, 2009
Like the previous Music and Gesture Conferences held in the UK (Norwich
2003 and Manchester 2006), MG3 will consist of talks on several
aspects of
gesture and music, including (but not limited to):
* Performance and instrumental gestures
* Musical gestures
* Gestural control of music
* Gesture acquisition, tracking and recognition
* Synthesis of gestures
