Thanks for the comments. I've enjoyed some of Frederick Pollack's poems and
find them interesting; though superficially their style may resemble the
mainstream I criticized I wasn't thinking particularly of them. I think
he's developed a unique style/form of his own, a different sort of poetry
from the mainstream, which is commendable.
My comment about reactionaryism was just a "make-you-think" remark trying to
point up the irony of living in an era when (at least in many circles) one
is expected to conform to rebelliousness.
