Dear MCG'ers,
Just a quick follow-up to say a huge thank you to the 144 of you that have so far signed the 'Save NOF Digi' petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/savedigi and that if you haven't signed it yet, there is still time (it only takes a few seconds!).
Several people have contacted me to say that their organisation's policy will not allow them to sign petitions. If you are in this situation, and would like to express your support, please feel free to email me direct - I promise to observe your confidentiality and not to include your name on the petition! If you are operating in a police state with a blanket ban on all communications, please send a blank postcard with the letters 'S N-D' on the back to Nick Poole, Collections Trust, Downstream Building, 1 London Bridge, London, SE1 9BG.
Also, a number of people have mooted some really interesting ideas about how to derive maximum value from the NOF-Digi content, and how best to bring it to the public. I have blogged this discussion at: http://openculture.collectionstrustblogs.org.uk/2009/08/27/how-to-save-nof-digi/ and would welcome any and all contributions and thoughts.
Many thanks once again and I'll email again as this campaign develops.
All best,
Nick Poole
