*Vacancy: Fortran 90 programmer and Early-Stage Climate Researcher*
Hannover, Germany, 6 August 2009
Dear colleague,
Climate Risk Analysis (CRA) is a partner in a new, EU-funded research
project. The Marie Curie Initial Training Network GATEWAYS studies the
climatic role of the Agulhas current, which connects the Indian with the
Atlantic Ocean and may influence European weather.
CRA's task is to develop or adapt methods of statistical time series
analysis, and to apply them to the palaeoclimatic records produced by
the GATEWAYS partners. The existing software is (and the new one to be)
written in Fortran 90. The ability to build a GUI for the software would
be an asset.
You have a basic knowledge of Fortran 90 and are an enthusiastic
researcher early in your career? Have a look at
http://www.mudelsee.com/news/index.html#PR-01/09
and visit the links provided there.
(If you are in a more adanced stage (i.e., PhD or equivalent): please
let your students know.)
Note: The GATEWAYS project offers at its partner institutions 14 other
positions as Early-Stage Researcher and 3 positions as Experienced
Researcher.
Yours sincerely
Manfred Mudelsee
P.s.: Sorry for cross-postings
