The Centre for Vision Research in the Westmead Millennium Institute
conducts research into the epidemiology of eye disease and other sensory
loss as well as exploring the associations with other systemic diseases,
and has recently expanded its research area into the underlying genetics
of eye diseases. The Centre is currently seeking a biostatistician to
manage, analyse and interpret data from the Centre's population-based
studies.
The successful candidate will have a degree in statistics or similar
field, with experience using SAS and MS Access databases. Ideally you
will have programming experience using R, Perl and/or C++, and be
familiar with the Unix or Linux environment.
This position is ideal for a candidate willing to undertake further
training and build a career in this area.
The position is full time fixed term for 2 years in the first instance
with potential for additional periods of employment (as per funding and
need), subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period.
Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition
of employment for new appointees.
Level of appointment and responsibility will be commensurate with
qualifications and experience.
Remuneration package: $63,109 - $70,715 p.a. (which includes a base
salary Level 5 $52,329 - $59,756 p.a., leave loading and up to 17%
employer's contribution to superannuation).
Remuneration package: $72,620 - $78,324 p.a. (which includes a base
salary Level 6 $61,365 - $66,185 p.a., leave loading and up to 17%
employer's contribution to superannuation).
