Dear List member,
Ayn Rand famously quoted:
“The ladder of success is best climbed by stepping on the rungs of
opportunity.”
Have we as Records Managers taken the opportunities that have come our
way?
My name is Andrew Brown and I am currently studying for an MSc in Records
Management at Aberystwyth University.
As part of my dissertation, I am undertaking a research project under the
supervision of Kirsten Ferguson-Boucher. This study aims to determine how
successful Records Management has been in the UK by asking Records
Managers’ perceptions of Records Management in their organisation and the
profession as a whole.
This topic provided some lively debate on this list last summer and I thought it
would be useful to try to quantify this ‘success’.
I was hoping for permission to circulate the attached questionnaire. I would be
very grateful if you would take the time to complete my questionnaire which
will take approximately 10-15 minutes. There are no right or wrong answers.
I hope that this study will generate some stimulating debate on this matter
and lead to a greater understanding of the current and future state of the
Records Management profession in the UK.
Thank you in advance for your time and look forward to hearing from you,
Kind regards,
Andrew Brown
