medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

> No, that cannot be. The figure on the left definitely has both hands on the
(diagonal) staff.
you are obviously plagued by Excessive Rationalism.
the very Essence of Rorschachism isn't Rational.
free Up your Mind and let your Spirit Soar.
> It could though be a book.
well, yeah, it *could* be anything.
but it's not.
it's a book, either being held out by the third hand of the Shiva-like figure
on the left (the one with the cheap clothes) or in the right hand of the
figure on the right, whose shoulder and diagonal upper right arm can be made
out just to the right and above the book.
> But, what, if anything, is the signifiacnce of the short cope?
who knows?
a tight clothing budget?
or, maybe, there's no signifiacnce to it at all.
say, this thing was obviously much easier to read when it was new.
howscome you guys let it deteriorate so badly before you asked for opinions
about what it represented?
