***Reminder - Summer Literary Heritage Walk***
Book now to avoid disappointment!
The Career Development Group, West Midlands, would like to invite you to a
walk through England's second city. The walk will showcase historic canals,
grand Victorian buildings and contemporary architecture. Follow in the
footsteps of great names like Tolkien and Washington Irving, discover local
authors and poets, explore the city’s role as a cultural centre and its links to
numerous modern writers. Find out how Birmingham was the first to introduce
a free library, how libraries helped Birmingham to grow and how the city
brought widespread literacy to the world. This walk is being run by a qualified
Blue Badge Guide and any profits raised will go to CDG International Projects.
When: Saturday 5th September at 11.00
Where: Birmingham – The walk starts at St. Martin's Church main entrance,
and will last for about an hour and a quarter
