Dear All,
At the University of Reading Library we are reviewing our procedures for the replacement of lost books.
Until now, if the borrower is able to find the item they have already paid for as lost, we will refund their money if a replacement has not been ordered. We are now considering whether to discontinue the option of a refund. Instead, if a book reported as lost has been paid for, the borrower will have the option of either keeping it or donating it back to the Library if they find it.
Is this how your library deals with any situations which arise like this or do you operate in a different way?
I would be grateful for any information on this topic.
Thanks for your help,
Regards, Nick.
