We have terracotta working providing high availability for our two shib 2 servers. We have tested failover a couple of times and session sharing works when we bring boxes up and down.
We have a terracotta server on each server and a client on each server. The session sharing works. The boxes are being rolled out as our production IDP after a bedding in period and lightweight testing for load.
We are happy to share experiences, drop us a line if interested.
