Job Description
To provide an acquisition, management and dissemination service for
geospatial data.
Key areas of responsibility include; ensuring data quality, integrity and
conformance to standards; ensuring output meets customer needs and
meeting business objectives.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Updating and maintaining corporate and local spatial and attribute data
using GIS software.
2. Acquisition of data, creation of new data themes and associated geospatial
data administration.
3. Creation and maintenance of supporting metadata.
4. Production of maps and plans as hardcopy or digital output.
5. Advising customers on how to improve use of digital map services and
geospatial applications.
6. Supporting the development and management of geospatial data on
corporate data servers.
7. Dissemination of digital data in various formats and completion of associated
documentation and licences.
8. Using analytical GIS tools to produce information and statistics.
9. Liaison with customers regarding specific project/task requirements.
10. Joining and contributing to Project Teams as necessary.
11. Maintenance of GPS, uploading/downloading and QA of resulting GPS data.
The ideal candidate will posses solid ArcGIS 9.x experience along with
familiarity with Ordnance Survey GB datasets. In addition you will have
experience of producing plans/ cartographic output and data capture (heads
up digitising)
