Hi,
For anyone who is interested I have created a script to check accounting
information for sites using Sun Grid Engine as a batch system. This is
the SGE equivalent to Mike Kenyon's accounting script for PBS (posted on
TB-SUPPORT a couple of weeks ago).
The script will process an SGE accounting file (passed as a command line
argument) and produce a summary of wallclock time, CPU time and total
HEPSPEChours for each VO. I have also added optional command line flags
to allow filtering on a specific time range, projects/VOs, queues,
nodes, groups, owners, accounts and specific job names and ids. Most of
the command line options will also accept multiple values.
There are some assumptions made which will have to be reviewed before
running the script:
- Assuming that non-gridPP jobs have been stripped from the accounting file
- Core type and HEPSPEC values are defined in the script
- Assuming linear mapping of core types in the cluster (e.g. dual cores
first 128 nodes, quad cores nodes 129-256)
- "project to VO" mappings are defined in the script (e.g. project name
vo_atlas will be mapped to atlas)
There arent many changes needed but where applicable I've labeled code
branches that may need to be tweaked for a specific site.
I hope this will be useful - please feel free to send me any feedback!
Cheers,
Andy.
