GIS Developer with experience of the full SDLC of both GIS Websites and GIS
Desktop Applications for internal and external clients is required by this leading
provider of technical solutions to Government, MOD and Public Sector
We are looking for a GIS Programmer with a strong general development
background that must include some of the following: ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS
and database knowledge of RDMS e.g. Oracle / SQL Server. Some testing
experience – e.g. Unit, stress & web is also preferred.
The successful candidates role will involve speaking to clients requirements
gathering and the development & integration of server-side GIS components
into mainstream IT systems.
You will need to have a GIS or IT related degree &/or relevant industry
experience gained whilst working in a commercial software development
environment, on GIS applications.
Experience of software engineering methodologies (e.g. RUP, RAD), practices &
UML (e.g. Use Cases, Class Diagrams is expected due to the nature of the
clients and projects undertaken.
All candidates must be British Nationals who are able to obtain security
clearance. Candidates are also expected to be flexible and able to
occassionally work on client sites if necessary.
