Hi Ian (and all!)
Thanks for the email, that's a good question. (I'm unsure if this should go to the list or you alone Ian, though you raised it as a matter of what the CGF is/should be so that seems appropriate.) I paused before sending to the CGF list (in addition to the other lists I sent it to) and decided to send because:
-Lammas is a research project for several geographers on this list including myself
- several list members have had critical geography students interested in doing undergrad and post grad dissertations on Lammas. I thought they would appreciate the update for past and potential future students.
- I've had communication from a range of other critters expressing interest in Lammas and eco-villages in the past
- Low Impact Developments such as Lammas have much to say about the way we address sustainability, climate change, Peak Everything and what I am developing in a paper on 'Geographies of Transition'
- the Hearing on 28th July is the pivotal moment in this 4 year saga of international importance and interest. It speaks volumes about the roles of policy, the planning system, citizen engagement and grass roots participation
- I see the Hearing as of profound interest for Critical Geography on and took all the above as a mandate to send it
I am sorry you didn't appreciate the orginal email. I'd love guidance and in-put from other critters, I do not want to push anyone away from what is an excellent forum and one of the things that keeps me in academia,
Love and respect,
Larch

Here is the latest news, please spread the word and apologies for cross
points:
The Lammas planning saga is approaching an end...
A hearing will be held at 10am on 28th July at Preseli School in
Crymych,
Pembrokeshire. It will be open to the public and presided over by a
Planning Inspector from the Welsh Assembly.
Lammas would encourage anyone who supports the project to attend. The
Planning Inspectorate has assured Lammas that anybody wishing to speak
will
be given the oportunity to do so.
We are not sure what structure the day will take, but reckon it will
certainly be an interesting event.
The Planning Inspector will then go away from this hearing and make a
final
decision by the end of August.
