We are currently reviewing our fines and the level at which we block members, and would be interested in finding out what other libraries do.
Currently we levy fines as follows
10p per day for 28 day loans
50p per day for 7 day loans
£1 per day for 1 day loans
The maximum fine is £6 per item and we have a block level of £15.
We are considering raising the £6 max as it has been the same for over 10 years and no longer seems to be effective, particularly for high demand items
Many thanks
