Aiming High for Disabled Children Short Breaks Pathfinder Programme: the
Impact of Short Breaks on Disabled Children and their Families
The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) has
commissioned the Centre for Disability Research at Lancaster University
(CeDR) and the National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi) to
evaluate the Aiming High for Disabled Children Short Breaks Pathfinder
Programme and to investigate the impact of short breaks on disabled
children and their families.
CeDR are taking the lead on researching the impact of short breaks on
the wellbeing of families with a disabled child. We will investigate
impact in a number of ways, beginning with a comprehensive review of
existing research. We will be searching electronic literature databases
to find relevant publications. To be sure that we cover as much
material as possible, we are contacting you to ask if you know of any
reports or articles that look at the impact of short breaks on disabled
children and their families?
If you do know of anything that could be included in the review, we
would be happy to hear from you either by email to Janet Robertson:
