An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is immediately available for a
highly motivated individual with a strong interest in structure and
function of macromolecular complexes in the laboratory of Dr. Liang Tang
at the Department of Molecular Biosciences, University of Kansas
(http://www.molecularbiosciences.ku.edu/faculty/tang.html). The projects
include structural studies on protein complexes in the Type III
secretion system and signal transduction in pathogenic bacteria by means
of X-ray crystallography and electron cryo-microscopy. The laboratory
has easy access to a Rigaku RU-H3RHB X-ray generator with an R-axis IV++
imaging plate system and a 200kV FEI transmission electron microscope
equipped with field emission gun both located in campus, and has regular
access to synchrotron radiation beamlines. The position is funded up to
two years, and may be extended dependent on performance and availability
of funding.
This position requires a Ph.D. in biochemistry or a related field, with
a strong background in protein crystallography. For more information and
to apply, go to: https://jobs.ku.edu and search with the job number
