Reference: MHS/90827
Applications are invited for a three-year full-time fellowship focused on statistical methodology in medical research with a special emphasis on non-pharmacological treatment trials. It is linked to a National Institute for Health Research Programme Grant for Applied Research Programme (PARADES) on preventing and reducing relapse and suicide in patients with bipolar disorder lead by Professor Steve Jones. The fellowship is based in the Health Methodology Research Group (HMRG) in the School of Community Based Medicine.
Unless the fellow has already successfully completed an equivalent Masters, the fellow will undertake MSc level training in the first year, enrolling on the MSc in Statistics in the School of Mathematics. Working alongside biostatisticians, health economists, and health informaticians in HMRG, as well as clinical researchers in the programme grant, the fellowship will equip the recipient with the skills necessary for a career as a statistician working in medical research in the public sector.
Joining an active research group, there will be research opportunities and expertise available to support the fellow's methodological development.
