Hi Christine,
Hope the attached responses are ok. Hope it all makes sense, otherwise, please get in
touch. Apologies for not being able to commit to your follow-up research, but we are
under-staffed at present so am trying to be realistic about our time and resources.
Be interested in your outcome/evaluation.
Best of luck,

Dear Colleagues,
I hope you will be willing to complete this questionnaire. As both an
Equality & Diversity Adviser and a post-graduate student studying
educational leadership, I am interested in exploring what traits and
behaviours make us more or less influential in our job role.
The concept of influence is difficult to describe, and so I have also
drawn on theories from writers on effective leadership in higher
education, as well as those who attempt to identify the personal traits
of good leaders, in developing this inquiry.
Your responses will be used anonymously to prepare a short report and as
part of a submission for a masters degree in educational leadership.
Any personal details provided by you will be destroyed by 18 October
2009.
I look forward to reading your thoughts and experiences. I will be happy
to supply a copy of the concluding report in the Autumn.
Please could you return the questionnaire to me by Friday 17 July 2009.
Best wishes,
Dr Christine Nightingale
