Hi Claire
I would find you running such a workshop extremely helpful and am very
keen to hear where we can tailor our services further to meet the needs
of customers. I would also be happy to contribute and share our future
plans with you ahead of the Conference but feel one additional key
element needs to be included which is the cost and willingness to pay
for providing such services. Without this element there is a danger a
wish list could be created which it is not possible for either Libraries
or Agents to fund.
Kind regards
Debbie

Hi Louise (and others)
Just to let you know that I've just agreed to run a workshop at the next
UKSG conference (April 2010 in Edinburgh) to try to tease out these
issues around 'what we would like our subscriptions agents to do for
us'.
The aim is to take a SWOT analysis approach to work together to discuss,
uncover and provide some sort of consensus on exactly what the issues
are for us. We could then look constructively at some of the ways that
agents could perhaps tailor their support and develop their services to
meet those present and future needs.
I hope people agree that this would be useful (if not tell me now and
we'll revise our plans before the conference!)
Best wishes
Claire

Hello Dawn
I'm afraid that, like you, we find the Swets access alerts are not that
up to date and have to check through them ourselves.
I wish there was an easier way!

Subject: [LIS-E-RESOURCES] E-Journal Holdings
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could give any advice on what e-journal
holding information they use to keep their users up to date.
We have electronic journal subscriptions both with EBSCO and SWETS and
although they both supply reports that contain holdings information
often we are finding that these don't match the records that the
publisher has. So this has placed my department in a dilemma as to
where we go to get the correct information. At the moment I am thinking
to stick with the information that EBSCO and SWETS provide in case what
the publisher "thinks" we are able to access changes.
So, I am writing to the list to see if others could please share with me
their practices before we start our task of checking / amending our
e-journals holdings database.
I look forward to your responses.
I am happy to summarise responses to this question off the list to the
people that reply.
Thanks in advance,
Best wishes.
