Working in the Department of German, you will have recently completed, or
be close to completion of, a PhD in the field of German and Austrian
Studies, and may have existing publications. You must be committed to high
quality and innovative teaching which draws in part on your own area of
subject expertise.
Applications are welcomed from specialists in any area of German and
Austrian Studies, but preference will be given to applicants who can
contribute to our curriculum in one or more of the areas of literary and
cultural studies; modern German history; German linguistics. You will
contribute to the language-teaching programme. Native or near-native
competence in German is essential. Previous teaching experience at
University level, including German language, would be highly desirable. You
will be expected to undertake a share of the administrative and pastoral
duties in the Department.
This appointment will initially be for ten months, commencing 1st September
2009, but with the possibility of an extension for a further year.
