Manager to provide strategic guidance to senior managers across their
business, and line management for a small team of professional statisticians.
This is an influential role for an experienced professional with strong SAS
skills.
This is a permanent position offering a salary of c£60,000 (exceptional
candidates may secure higher) and an extensive benefits package including

Manager – Data Management & Statistics (UK)
As Manager of the Data Management and Statistics function you will lead and
manage a small team of professional statisticians/ bioinformaticians in
developing and implementing strategies for the management and statistical
analysis of data from clinical studies and other sources, and provide expert
statistical advice and guidance to colleagues across the business.
You will provide strategic direction and an integrated service for all
research projects to help ensure that all of our client’s scientific
research activity is underpinned by effective experimental design, analysis
and interpretation of results.
As Manager of the Data Management and Statistics function you will raise the
profile of the statistical advisory service your department offers to
internal customers across our client’s business, emphasising the importance
of correct experimental design and statistical analysis. Using your
knowledge of clinical trial data interpretation and analysis you will bring
industry ‘best practise’ to our client’s operation and champion the raising
of standards across their business.
You will make recommendations on how to best achieve business objectives,
whether it’s engaging internal resources or drawing on your experience to
recommend and select external service providers (CROs/ research institutes etc).
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
• PhD in Applied Statistics or equivalent experience in medical statistics,
or a related discipline with a large mathematical component.
• Advanced statistical computing skills and experience in statistical
packages, preferably SAS, and ideally including SAS Drug Development (SDD).
• Experience in clinical study design, clinical data analysis and database
management.
• Ability to build knowledge of statistical methods amongst non-statisticians.
• Experience in managing a small team.
