NATIONAL PERINATAL EPIDEMIOLOGY UNIT

Grade 7 - £28,839 to £35,469
Applications are invited for the post of Statistician based in the
National Perinatal
Epidemiology Unit at the University of Oxford. The post is funded by the
Department
of Health from 1st September 2009 until 31st December 2010 in the first
instance and
is full-time or part-time.
This is an exciting opportunity for a statistician with experience of
data analysis to
develop their analytical skills and epidemiological expertise within a
variety of
important studies in maternal and child health. You will be responsible
for
undertaking the data management and analysis for selected studies. You
will help
prepare reports and write articles for publication in peer-reviewed
journals.
We are looking for someone with a postgraduate degree in statistics or
equivalent
experience (e.g. a degree with a high content in medical
statistics/epidemiology) who
has practical experience of research and managing large and complex
datasets.
