Dear Zooarchers,
The bone comparative collection in our institute comprises numerous
defleshed, but very greasy bones. Over the years these specimens have
become even more greasier.
Does anyone know of any simple, non-hazardous method(s) for degreasing
bone. We do not have laboratory facilities in the building, so the
hazard factor should be as low as possible. I have a room at my disposal
with a window for ventilation and that's all. Across the corridor there
are offices occupied by other colleagues, so the proposed method
shouldn't be a smelly one.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Elaine
