Where do you think you're going...?
An innovative Digital Transport workshop, Thursday 25th June, 1000-1800, Newcastle upon Tyne
http://digitaltransport.wordpress.com/
Newcastle University and Imperial College (London) would like to invite you to participate in a different sort of Workshop.
The aim of the day is to help shape future research into sustainable intelligent transport.
It will be sparky; it will be challenging; it will think the unthinkable - and it will be FREE with refreshments provided.
Places at this event are limited! To register your attendance for this exciting day, please follow this link: http://wdytyg.eventbrite.com<http://wdytyg.eventbrite.com/>
You'll not want to miss it, will you?!
The event is intended to be an informal one. We want to throw away the rule book and have some sessions where people really do think the unthinkable
and then ask "well if it ever did happen like that, what would happen next?" and similar questions to take people outside their comfort zone:
Will the internet and technology influence how we travel? Whether we travel at all?
Can technology help mobility?
How useful is "user-generated content"?
How far can mobile internet and Web2.0 get you? - literally
Where is transport research going?
Did Beethoven have a food processor?
To do this, we need people with technical nous and the willingness to suggest moving in one direction when everyone else is arguing to go the other way!
Unlike other events, we are giving you the opportunity to get involved right from the start. We have established a blog for the event, which we encourage
you to visit, look around and start blogging/contributing your ideas, comments and suggestions for the day:
http://digitaltransport.wordpress.com/
Please, please, please get involved! Blog your ideas before the event then come along and listen to new thoughts on old problems;
share with us what you think matters; show us what you're up to;
join in when people ask the questions they've always wanted to pose on transport and the internet; suggest the areas you think need further investigation.
Proceedings will be blogged and tweeted LIVE from the event; together with opportunities for remote contributions.
If you are already tweeting on Twitter, please add the event's hashtag #wdytyg to your tweets to help spread the word!
All contributions will be collated and forwarded to EPSRC as the outcome of the workshop and used in the SIMM final report.
If you'd like further details about attending, exhibiting, making a short presentation or demonstrating a product or technology,
or following the workshop online please go to the event's blog @ http://digitaltransport.wordpress.com/
