Research Assistant
An industry review of the University of Abertay's Arts, Digital Media
and Computer Games portfolio
£24,152 - £28,839(pro-rata)

A graduate Research Assistant is required from either a business or
management orientated subject specialism, and with an interest in
media-management to support this research project.
The project will gather evidence from a representative sample of the
University's creative industries partners, associated agencies and
government, in order to identify joint strategic interests and
potential future partnerships. The project will also seek to
establish:
a. the changing strategic aims of the sector
b. changing governmental and agency policies
c. changing sectoral employment trends and needs
d. changing market landscapes and opportunities
You will have a first degree in the area of business, economics or
management, and will have experience in data-logging, data analysis,
and academic writing. You will be expected to undertake desk-research
duties, data transcription, data sifting and formatting, and some
fundamental analysis. You will also be expected to liaise with and
co-ordinate the research project's participants.
This temporary post would ideally suit a candidate who might wish to
continue in either post-graduate study or undertake a career in media
analysis or media management; however the experience of the research
methodology would transfer into many wider contexts.
The post is expected to commence as soon as is feasible, by mutual
agreement, and to be contained within the summer months.
