Are you setting up or developing a Web presence for your institution?
Do you need to know about professional issues which impact on institutional
websites?
Take this opportunity to examine important ethical issues which can arise.
The course will focus primarily on -
- Digital rights
- Privacy and Data Protection issues
- Key accessibility issues
- Security issues
relating to both traditional and new web environments.
We will analyse some of the copyright and privacy statements and settings
found on a range of websites, in addition to some useful resources on these
issues.
Susannah Hanlon is Programme Leader for BSc (Hons) Librarianship (by
distance learning) in the School of Computing, Engineering and Information
Sciences (CEIS) at Northumbria University.
