Dear colleagues
The Consortium for Refugees and Migrants in South Africa (CoRMSA) has
just released its 2009 report entitled *Protecting Refugees, Asylum
Seekers and Immigrants in South Africa*. This comprehensive research
report compiled by the Forced Migration Studies Programme at Wits
University identifies a number of challenges facing non-nationals in
South Africa including the ongoing threat of xenophobic violence,
barriers in accessing services, assistance for Zimbabwean nationals in
South Africa and more. Further issues addressed include gender-based
violence, challenges in accessing the asylum system and the ongoing
arrest and detention of non-nationals.
The report and an executive summary are available via our website at

Kind regards
Duncan Breen
