TEACHERS OF ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES (EAP)
Required to provide small group teaching for the 20, 15, 10 or 6-week Presessional Course in English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
15-week EAP course: 1 June - 18 September (induction Friday 15 May)
10-week EAP course: 13 July - 18 September (induction Wednesday 8 - Friday 10 July)
6-week EAP course: 10 August - 18 September (induction Wednesday 5 - Friday 7 August)
Attendance on the induction programme is mandatory
Essential
You will have:
* a first degree
* an MA in a TEFL-related area, a PGCE with substantial TEFL component and/or a diploma-level qualification as defined in section 4.2 of the British Council's Accreditation UK handbook <www.britishcouncil.org/accreditation_uk_handbook_2008-09.pdf> (pp. 46-47)
* substantial teaching experience, ideally in EAP or a related field at tertiary level.
Desirable
We particularly welcome applications from teachers with experience of teaching overseas and/or EAP experience in: Social Sciences; Government and Politics; Engineering; Science; Law; Medicine; Dentistry and Health Sciences.
Salary: Your basic salary will be at the rate of £550.00 per week. You will also be entitled to claim 12% per week in lieu of holiday, bringing the total weekly amount to £616.00.
The induction programme is payable at the rate of £120.54 per day, plus 12% in lieu of holiday, bringing the total to £135.00 per day.
Subsidised, en-suite, local self-catering accommodation is available upon request.
