GEOGRAPHIES OF CARIBBEAN MIGRATION
Wednesday 22 July 2009
University of Manchester
This one day international workshop explores how forms of mobility and
the collective identities constructed by Caribbean migrants have been
transformed over the twentieth century. Bringing together geographers,
historians and anthropologists, the workshop investigates how
migratory routes, trans-national networks, and sites of settlement
have been remade within the Caribbean and the UK. Speakers include
Elizabeth Thomas-Hope, Ceri Peach, Howard Johnson, Colin Clarke,
Margaret Byron, Elaine Bauer and Laurence Brown.
