Everything You wanted to Know About.....Digital Content
The Strategic Content Alliance (www.jisc.ac.uk/contentalliance) is
conducting a series of FREE workshops aimed at anyone who is involved in
the creation and curation of digital content. All workshops offer the
opportunity to use free tools in order to answer real world problems,
using real world examples
These workshops offer delegates the opportunity to make the most out of
their collections and archives using a range of free tools and digital
strategies. They will demonstrate how to harness copyright law, 21st
Century business models and cutting edge technology and techniques.
Specialisms for each workshop include:
Audience Analysis- to meet user needs
Business Modeling and Sustainability
Intellectual Property Rights and Licencing
Search Engine Optimisation / Internet Marketing
Introduction to Digipedia- a moderated wiki aimed at synthesising the
digital content life-cycle information and knowledge from authoritative
sources

Who is this workshop for?
This workshop aims to help archivists, curators, teachers, academics,
librarians and lecturers specifically, but others working in the
creation and delivery of online content more broadly to get to grips
with how they can best exploit opportunities legally - using real world
examples.
For example:
Learning objects creation- Am I allowed to share these with colleagues?
Collection digitization for online delivery- How can I continue with the
digitisation project once the initial funding has ran out?
Which tools have been developed?
To help you overcome issues surrounding digital creation and curation,
we have developed a suite of tools which are freely available. These
include toolkits, reports and case-studies held at:
http://sca.jiscinvolve.org/publications/
