Subject: Historic Sites
What are your experiences of using digital media in historic sites?
Are you working in an organisation that is using (has used) digital media in
a creative way to interpret historic sites and buildings? Is your
organisation responsible for a listed building where interpretive digital
media has been used imaginatively? What have you seen around the country
(and around the world) that has impressed you most? What works, what
doesn't? What matters, what doesn't?
In an attempt to start conversations (and share examples and best practice)
that we can carry into our spring MCG meeting next Tuesday (19th May) in
Bath
http://www.museumscomputergroup.org.uk/meetings/1-2009.shtml
... it would be good to hear from list members on this subject.
At the meeting we'll be hearing from the museum team in Batb, as well as the
Royal Shakespeare Company, Historic Royal Palaces and the National Trust.
But before then we would love to give an opportunity (here on the list) to
the many other institutions that we know are working in and with historic
sites and digital media in this way. It would be great to learn about your
work.
(There are some 650 members on the MCG list. But we don't always hear from
everyone - far from it in fact. So I'm particularly interested to hear
on-list (or, if you prefer, off-list) from those members that don't tend to
post or (especially) those that have never posted!)
Best wishes,
Ross Parry
