The Food and Environment Research Agency’s role is to support and develop a
sustainable food chain, a healthy natural environment, and to protect the
community from biological and chemical risks. The Agency employs over 700

Following the launch of the Agency on 1 April, we have two newly created
opportunities for Programme leaders, which may be of interest to
leaders/managers in statistics and related subjects.
Each Head of Programme role is responsible for managing resources, staff
performance and ensuring delivery of outputs and outcomes within their
Programme. These are important leadership roles, sharing senior corporate
responsibility for issues within the Agency. This includes day to day
running of the business and organisational initiatives. Duties include
providing leadership, programme management and developing business and
science strategies for the Programme. You will also be responsible for both
the Programme budget and income generation through building customer and
stakeholder relationships.
Head of Evidence and Analysis Programme

from £41,728 to £51,196 pa
The Evidence and Analysis Programme at Fera comprises a number of
scientific, technical and consultancy teams that deliver internal services
and research to support policy development. There are approximately 45
people delivering to this Programme across four areas, Risk Analysis,
Agricultural and Rural Strategy, Plant Health Consultancy and Statistics and
Informatics.

Fera is a knowledge intensive organisation, our ability to manage knowledge
and share that knowledge base is vital to the success of the Agency. This
Programme brings together the Information Systems and Information Management
practitioners at the Agency and is tasked with realising the value of
knowledge across Fera. Key responsibilities include improving business
results, defining, maintaining and executing a strategic implementation plan
and building a network to facilitate the seamless exchange of information
across systems.
