The 107 page report focuses upon allegations of misconduct made against the four peers in The Sunday Times on 25 January 2009, specifically that they accepted 'cash' for services such as asking questions and lobbying in the House of Lords. Digitization was sponsored by Microsoft Corporation, and scanning done on Kirtas scanners. OCR and derivative formats created by the Internet Archive. They include many classic and rare books covering a wide range of subject areas from the humanities, arts and social sciences. Topics include anthropology, historical gazettes, philosophy, European and American history and literature. There are large collections of materials on the American civil war, French revolution and early history of the founding of the American political system. The site can be browsed or searched by keyword. Information on copyright policy is displayed.

It focuses on 4 periods of American history when free speech and civil liberties were threatened, highlighting the ways in which dissent and protestors were treated. The topics covered are McCarthyism during the Cold War period of the 1950s; conscientious objectors during the Second World War; Japanese-American internment during the Second World War; protests against the Vietnam War in the 1960s. Each section contains written text, plus images of original documents, prints, posters and campaign leaflets produced by the protestors. There are also some contemporary photographs and accounts of the protests. Copyright and technical information is displayed on the website.

It provides free access to a growing collection of online resources including digitised editions of historic and contemporary Caribbean newspapers (The Nassau Tribune, Abaconian; Awe Mainta and Justice) the Leonard Carpenter Panama Canal Collection ( a collection of historic photographs of the canal region and construction most are dated from 1914 to 1929) large collections on maya and Aztec civilisations; online government gazettes, maps, photographs and historic books. A wide range of subject areas relevant to social scientists are covered : including political, economic and social history, elections and government, constitutional history and the history of slavery and emancipation, British Empire and decolonisation. Many of them are created by German citizens and offer insight into life, protests and the impact of the demolition of the wall on East and West Germany. They also cover themes relating to the unification of Germany. Users may search or browse the site. Also provided are oral history accounts, mappings of the location of the images on Google maps and the facility for registered users to tag and rate the materials. Copyright and technical information is displayed on the website. Most of the text is offered English or German language.
