But not sure at all about that 'Demerit points for bad poetry'
article; not that I dont agree with the title, but the piece itself
seems somewhat incohernet to a reader who finds both Judith Wright AND
Robert Adamson fine poets, let alone so many others I could mention
whose work would lead the author to apparently 'revoke privileges on
grounds of obscurity.'
'admirably clear and piercing' sounds good, but let's say we say
Yeats's poems are that; they are also complex, obscure, musical
nevertheless, demanding & mysterious (as I think any good art must be).
So I'm left confused, wondering what , beyond Wislawa Szymborska, this
'chap' likes....
