Information Worker, North and Scotland 

 

·         35 hours per week 

·         Based in Sheffield or Glasgow 

·         NJC Band C, point 25 

·         £21,306 per annum  

 

Breast Cancer Care is the UK's leading provider of information, practical 
assistance and emotional support for anyone affected by breast cancer. Every 
year we respond to over two million requests for support and information 
about breast cancer or breast health concerns. All our services are free. We 
are committed to campaigning for better treatment and support for people 
with breast cancer and their families.

 

Based in our Sheffield or Glasgow centre and managed by the Head of 
Services, North or Head of Scotland, the Information Worker will be a member 
of the services team, which is responsible for developing and delivering a 
range of services across the UK. 

 

Working closely with the Information Worker (South and Wales) the postholder 
will be an information resource for the North and Scottish services teams, 
gathering and recording breast cancer related information from across the 
region, and ensuring this is shared appropriately to enable the Gateway 
approach to work efficiently across the organisation. The Information Workers 
will share the provision of an efficient and effective information service to 
external customers, comprising a comprehensive, responsive, non-medical 
enquiry service and suitable resource provision. 

 

With previous experience in an information setting, the postholder will be an 
excellent communicator, with first-class information retrieval skills and a 
friendly, professional approach. The postholder will also have a focus on 
supporting the Head of Scotland by researching policy and political 
documentation relevant to the organisation’s work in Scotland, ensuring they 
are up to date with any changes that occur.
