The Umbrella Conference 2009 takes place on 14-15 July at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield and provides a unique experience to meet the UK library community, discuss issues affecting your future, and improve your knowledge. How can you qualify for the Bursary place?
1. Applicants should be current UC&R members, residing, working or studying in the East Midlands.
2. You should not have attended a Cilip Umbrella Conference previously.
3. Preference will be given to new professionals (joining the profession in the last 3 years, and to information/library science students.
What does the Bursary include?
1. The bursary will cover the Umbrella Conference fee (including accommodation) and reasonable travel expenses (including Standard class rail fares booked in advance)
What will you be expected to do after attending the Conference?
The successful applicant will be expected to write a report on the Conference. This may be published in the Cilip UC&R Newsletter, in Relay, or on the Cilip UC&R website. We also welcome suggestions for use of a conference blogs etc.
How can you apply?
1. Applications should include a brief Curriculum Vitae and an outline (no more than 300 words, please)of why you think attending this conference would be of benefit to or contribute towards your professional or career development.

Applications received will be assessed by the Cilip UC&R East Midlands Committee and all applicants be informed of the outcome a maximum of 14 days afterwards.
