Dear All,
The British Geophysical Association invites nominations for its 2010
Bullerwell Lecturer.
The Bullerwell Lecture is one of the principal BGA events and provides
prestige to the lecturer, who should be "an outstanding young British
geophysicist" (we interpret "British" to mean "working at a British
institution at the time of the nomination").
We are accepting nominations on the forms provided on the BGA website,
http://www.geophysics.org.uk - go to "meetings and events" in the
main menu, and find the form as a downloadable Word or pdf file,
and instructions in a separate pdf file.
(If you can't download these forms please contact me directly at the
email address [log in to unmask] for copies.)
The deadline for nominations is 20th June 2009.
The instructions are vague about where and when the lecture in 2010
will be delivered for the first time, because the BGA Committee is considering
alternatives to the current slot at the New Advances in Geophysics meeting
in London in early February. Please nominate people all the same,
so that we can have a field of good candidates to choose from, wherever
the lecture is held.
Regards,
Sheila Peacock
(BGA Secretary)
