Community Access & Education Officer (British Steel Archive Project) based
at Teesside University, Middlesbrough.
£19,645 - £22,765 (pro rata)
Working 22.5 hours per week

Under the direction of the Community Engagement Manager, you will initiate
and organise a community engagement project funded by the Royal Academy of
Engineering and other activities associated with the British Steel Archive
Project. This will include supervising project volunteers & engineers,
promoting the public engagement skills of engineers by involving them in
activities with local schools and proactively building links with community
organisations, schools, colleges, libraries and museums to raise awareness
of the project.
Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g.
engineering, science, history, archives), you will have good interpersonal
skills and the ability to work effectively with a number of organisations.
You must have good organisational skills and experience of developing and
running workshops. Good IT skills using Windows XP, Microsoft Office and the
internet are also essential as is a willingness to work flexibly, including
some evenings or weekends.
