Thanks for the heads up. I didn't realise that things had got better
with the gridengine packaging in jaunty. Things were a bit wobbly in
hardy.
This now means that the SGE "install" on Ubuntu now amounts to this:
# for the master
sudo apt-get install gridengine-master gridengine-client
sudo qconf -am <your username>
qconf -aq
<... fiddle with a few things ...>
qconf -ahgrp
<... add your hostname ...>
# for the exec hosts
sudo apt-get install gridengine-exec
# for the submit hosts
qconf -as <hostname>
Seems like my "standard" install that I do on machines just got a
whole lot easier.
I am now updating the wiki to suit.
