Dear Tools Members!
The Dublin Core Tools community is excited to announce a workshop on
issues and challenges regarding the implementation of metadata schemes,
wich will take place on Friday May 29 during the Libraries in the Digital
Age (LIDA) conference (see the conference website on
http://www.ffos.hr/lida/), located in Zadar, Croatia. Two high-level
invited speakers will share their hands-on experience regarding metadata
implementation issues. Cesare Concordia (Europeana project team) will talk
about his experience regarding the integration of heterogeneous metadata
sets in the context of the Europeana database. Our second speaker is Dan
Brickley (W3C semantic web specialist), who will elaborate on the
practical use of RDF for the creation and management of metadata. Thomas
Severiens and Seth van Hooland, the DC Tools chairmen, will also talk
about the new policy regarding the set of metadata tools referred to on
the DC Tools page. Hope to see you in Zadar!
