Please find below information about the vacancy notices and post descriptions for two recently-advertised posts in WHO's TB monitoring and evaluation team, based in Geneva. One post is for a statistician, and one is for a data manager.

1. Conduct all analyses required for the annual production of estimates of TB incidence, prevalence and mortality for publication in WHO's annual report on global TB control. 
2. Lead or contribute to (i) analyses of national and subnational surveillance data and (ii) the design and analysis of nationwide surveys of the prevalence of TB disease, to better estimate the burden of TB and trends in this burden.
3. Provide expert statistical advice and support to other staff in TME and to staff in other teams in the Stop TB Department, such that all analyses are conducted using best-practice statistical methods. 
4. Contribute to the development and implementation of the recommendations of the WHO Global Task Force on TB Impact Measurement, including via participation in meetings of the full Task Force, proactive membership of the three subgroups of the Task Force (analysis of surveillance data and improving surveillance; disease prevalence surveys; and methods used to produce epidemiological estimates at global, regional and country level), organization/facilitation of workshops and country missions. 
5. Lead or contribute to the production of high-quality written products, based on analyses of surveillance and survey data, including reports and publications in peer-reviewed journals. 
6. Contribute to other work in TME, as appropriate.

1. Manage WHO's global TB database and data management system, as well as associated databases, in collaboration with other TME staff, Regional and country offices, and national TB control programmes. This includes first-line responsibility for TME's annual cycle of collection, uploading, validation, storage, extraction, analysis and reporting of data.
2. Ensure that TME's database and database management system, including design of data collection forms and data entry screens, programming related to automatic upload of data, data extraction and generation of standard reports, updating of the database when new data are provided, documentation of standard operating procedures, database security, are based on information technology best practices and industry standards. 
3. Respond to ad-hoc requests for data and data queries from staff in the Stop TB Department, Regional and Country offices, National TB control programmes, and external partners, including preparation of customized analyses where appropriate. 
4. Establish and maintain collaborative links with data managers  and system experts in other departments and IT support teams in WHO, to ensure that the TB database meets the minimum quality and security standards expected by WHO members states and partners, and is compatible with other systems being developed, supported and promoted within WHO. 
5. Provide regular updates on the status of the global TB database, including timely provision of reports, tables and graphics, to senior TME staff.
6. Collaborate with staff in TME and other teams, Regional and Country offices, and external partners on issues related to the global TB database, database management and use of data.
