Closing date - Friday 24 April
Following successful projects over the last few summers, GridPP will again consider funding, or partially funding, one or two students for a 10 week period this summer. In principle, the work can be in any area that supports the GridPP mandate to deliver Grid Computing to the UK High Energy Physics community. This might be directly related to the turn on of the LHC and preparations for data, or related to developing monitoring tools, dissemination, introducing new science onto the Grid, or even testing hardware. If you think you have a project which would be of interest please apply.
Applications should be on one side of A4, and include:
1) The name, institution and contact details of the principal applicant. This can be any member of the GridPP collaboration.
2) Names, institutions and addresses for co-applicants, who do not need to be GridPP members.
3) Title of the activity
4) Summary of the proposed activity and explicit answers to the following questions:
a) What are the aims
b) What will be the outcome (report? software? presentation?)
c) How does this work benefit GridPP and/or UK HEP?
d) Over what period will take place
5) Overall budget and breakdown including VAT. If GridPP is only able to partially fund this, is there another source of funds that could contribute?
Applications should be sent to Neasan O'Neill ([log in to unmask]) by
the closing date of Friday 24 April. Successful applicants will need to
supply a report to the PMB on completion of the project so the work needs to be a finite and distinguishable contribution.
Thanks,
Neasan O'Neill
