Temporary post of Project Officer, University Records Management Scoping
Study (Research Associate)
Grade: 7
Salary Range: £27,183 - £35,469
Limit of tenure: twelve months from date of appointment
Applications are invited for the temporary post of Project Officer, based in
Cambridge University Library, to analyse current record-keeping in the
University and propose improvements to policy and procedure. The post will
be filled at Research Associate level. An experienced Records Manager,
you.will investigate the extent to which the University supports the records
management function, redrafting policy as necessary; outline the nature of
professional records management support required; and carry out a selective
records audit, prior to making recommendations on organisational structure,
staff training, business processes, record-keeping systems design and storage
arrangements.
You will have a post graduate qualification in records management and/or
archives administration and at least 3 years’ experience in records
management, preferably in a Higher Education institution; sound understanding
of records management principles and best practice, including knowledge of
the legislative framework, excellent IT, interpersonal skills and the ability to
communicate confidently and authoritatively with groups of senior University
officers.
