I know that this does not answer the original question, but there are also
some wonderful examples of slickensides visible in the Nenthead Mines
complex. For a short while last Sunday, I was laid below one whilst
attempting to dig a drain in an old crosscut in Middlecleugh Mine.
Fortunately, so far it has not exploded.

From memory, one used to be able to view very good examples of slickenside
in the rock that outcropped in the side of the opencast working of Low Mine,
Bonsall, Derbyshire. This mine is found on the western end of the Great Rake
(also known as Bacon Rake) and is located on the footpath that goes from
Bonsall Cross to Matlock Bath over the top of Masson Hill. Another mine on
the Great Rake (Side Mine, Matlock Bath) situated at the eastern end of the
rake also had excellent examples of slickenside, but these were underground.
I remember seeing them when Derbyshire Stone was working Side mine in the
mid 1950's and we were able to explore the mine.
