Totally agree.
Tasi/JISC wrote the book on this, and have invaluable spreadsheets, 'how
to...' PDFs and pretty much all you need to get a digi project up and
running. They used to run training courses as well...but I haven't seem
them recently - or maybe just don't 'read' them anymore.

Hi Julian
How about getting on to JISC digital media, formerly TASI?
http://www.jiscdigitalmedia.ac.uk/
They wrote the book on this stuff. I've read it, but still forget about
the lens cap...
All the best

person specifications
I am working on a digitisation implementation plan for a regional
museum,
who plan to employ someone for 4 days a week for 2 years to photograph a
collection of fine and decorative art, and scan photographs and
transparencies. The post will most likely include some organisation and
rationalisation of existing digital and non-digital resources.
Would any members be willing to share examples off list of job
descriptions
and person specifications for similar posts? I have one from the
National
Maritime Museum for a Digital Photographer, dating from last August,
which
was very helpful.
Many thanks
Julian
