You are cordially invited to join us at the THIRD BLOOMSBURY CONFERENCE ON
E-PUBLISHING AND E-PUBLICATIONS, 25 & 26 JUNE 2009 - BEYOND BOOKS
AND JOURNALS.
Full programme and registration information now available online at
http://www.ucl.ac.uk/infostudies/e-publishing/
This is an independent conference organised from the Centre for
Publishing/Department of Information Studies at University College London, and
follows the format of its two highly successful predecessors.
BEYOND BOOKS AND JOURNALS looks at formal scholarly communication not
just from the inside but also from the perspective of the changing
characteristics of the digital environment and what these changes mean to
the scholarly community and the publishers serving them.
The context is formal scholarly communication, traditionally mediated by
publishers whose concerns will be central, but many of the presentations will
come from the research community and scholars concerned with publications
as well as important contributions from publishers and librarians. The audience
envisaged is information scientists, librarians and scholars themselves as well
as the publishing community in its widest sense. The Centre for Publishing,
through its research arm CIBER, is the leader in academic research on the how
academics work online and the programme reflects both the evidence-based
approach of CIBER and the CIBER insistence on seeing formal communication in
the bigger picture of wider digital environment.
We hope you will be able to join us and look forward to welcoming you!
