Dear colleagues,
This request for information is directed at librarians supporting English
Language Learning courses (ESOL & ELT).
Could anyone offer suggestions of self-access library materials for ESOL
students with very limited reading skills? Some of our students also have
low levels of literacy in their own languages. I have recently been asked
for an introduction to the English alphabet with either sound or video, for
a student who is a total beginner. I'm aware of the basic literacy
materials from Avanti but these aren't usually available with multimedia.
Suggestions with (or without) multimedia would be gratefully received.
I will summarise any responses for the list,
cheers, Laksh
