On the contrary, the MPIG was introduced to maintain practice income -
so perpetuating the random and inequitable distribution of funding
between practices that was in place before the contract.
Eroding the MPIG and moving to a formula allocation of core funding
brings fair funding to all practices (and would have been achieved
with the original contract had not all the £ been put into QoF)
That said the process of moving practices from inequitable to fair
funding might not feel like it is fair.
