Trent Cancer Registry
CANCER INTELLIGENCE ANALYST (STATISTICIAN)
Agenda for Change Band 5: £20,710 - £26,839 p.a.
Hours: 37½ per week
FIXED TERM POST FOR TWO YEARS FROM APPOINTMENT
Trent Cancer Registry is responsible for collecting, analysing and disseminating information and intelligence on cancer incidence, treatment, mortality and survival in the East Midlands and South Yorkshire.
The Cancer Intelligence Analyst will be a key part of our team providing high quality intelligence and analytical support to the Registry, local NHS cancer networks and other bodies.
Applicants will hold a degree (or equivalent qualification) in a subject with significant analytical and/or statistical content, with highly developed skills in data management, analysis and interpretation, preferably in a health-related area. You must also have substantial experience of using Excel and other statistical software (e.g. STATA) in the analysis and presentation of information. The ability to manage and prioritise your own workload and work effectively within a team are essential. You will also have effective inter-personal and communication skills, as our Analysts are often required to communicate statistical information to a non-statistical audience.
We are committed to the professional development of our staff and there will be opportunities to undertake further training and development with the option of enrolling for a suitable postgraduate course (study leave and subsidy towards fees available).
The post is based in Fulwood, Sheffield, although candidates will be required to travel to other work locations in South Yorkshire, East Midlands and meetings in various parts of the UK.
